My name is Rudrani, and I am, amongst many things, a researcher, a photojournalist, and a scholar. Most importantly, I am very curious about the world around me. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in Political Science, I spent a year in India, researching the discrimination faced by transgender women in Kolkata, and volunteering efforts to bring better menstrual hygiene knowledge in rural Assam. I spent months covering the lives and stories of people across rural India, much of which has inspired this portfolio.
My research interests span across the realm of international relations, with particular interest in civil conflicts and mediation efforts. I also enjoy learning about and working on issues specific to women and gender identity.
